I have been jumping on and off the fitness band wagon for years now and saw the best results over 4 years ago as I was in my 2nd year at Uni. It was so easy to fit my fitness regime into my not so strenuous schedule and I was doing really well with my diet. However, I fell off it after my amazing holiday in Miami and getting into a relationship and moving to Germany to start my placement year. That was my excuse, life.
I guess you can get a bit comfortable when you are in a relationship, the evenings you spent at the gym are swapped for going out for dinner with your partner – I have seen it happen to many people. Now I am not saying relationships are all bad….. you just have to find the right balance I guess. Continue reading “How I keep myself fitness motivated”
My Mom is a huge inspiration for me and she never stops having adventures, here is a guest post by her on her visit to Yosemite National Park:
My partner and me recently visited my sister who temporarily works in the Silicon Valley and planned a short holiday around a family visit. One of the highlights of our trip was a 2 day visit to Yosemite National Park in North California. The entire park covers an area of 3,026 km2 and reaches across the western slopes of the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This was very my first visit to a national park in the US and I happened to choose the national park which paved the way to the development of the idea of the national park system in the US. In 1864 Abraham Lincoln signed the Yosemite Grant to protect the Yosemite Valley, a group of people then successfully lobbied to establish a national park that encompassed Yosemite Valley’s surrounding mountains. Now we all know I am a big fan of boozy brunches and I have decided to live by the motto of going to brunch (boozy brunch ahem) at least once a month. There are so many options that have been popping up recently so it would be rude not to try them…. all. At the same time, I still need to restrict myself as I am cutting down my alcohol intake in hopes to get closer to my body goals.
In this post I’ll sum up a few of the great boozy brunch options in London right now that you should put in your diary and then I’ll do a series of “Boozy Brunch with Mel” where I’ll rate everything in terms of price, quality and taste of food, healthy food options, service and how great the drink options are along with the refill rate.
Every boozy brunch adventure ends with a story to tell, whether it is a story you regret or one that you cannot stop laughing about, or one you simply can’t remember or forget.
So why is bottomless brunch really that great? Well first of all it combines two of the most amazing things – food and alcohol. Then it also brings out the competitive side of things – how many glasses can you drink in 2 hours? And if you want to take it to the next level – how much time can you get extended to your bottomless limit? Continue reading “Bottomless Brunchin in London”
Everyone who knows me knows I am a big city girl. It is what I know being raised on a city island but every now and again it is nice to escape and isolate myself away from the fast-pace buzz. I have just come back from a trip to New York, and since that was basically London on steroids, I was quite happy to be invited by Volvo to take some time with them in escaping the city in their Canary wharf pop up.
